February — March 2014. Lemon Festival in Menton (France)

From February 25 to March 4, 2014 the Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra has been participation in 81st International Lemon Festival (Fete du Citron), that’s been taking place in Menton (France). The First Lemon Festival was organized by local administration back in 1934. The Festival happened to be such a success, that it became annual, attraction more and more people every year. 

The Festival is held every year in the end of February – beginning of March and lasts a little more than two weeks. This year the main motive of the festival is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. More than 300 master craftsmen worked on creation of figures and various pannos from clementines and lemons, with over 140 tons of citruces spent.
