2014 “Person of the year” Award
In 2014 E.Petrov has won the independent regional award “Person of the year” by the “elovoy Kvartal” magazine in the “Person of the year in the socio-cultural sphere” nomination.

On February 14th happened a meeting of the “Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra” ensemble with the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region – Valeriy Pavlinovich Shantsev.
Artists showed their everyday work to the governor. At the orchestra rehearsals in a relaxed atmosphere the artists had a chance to talk directly to the Head of region. They told him about the performance activities of ensemble, their achievements, shared artistic plans and discussed cultural life of Nizhny Novgorod region. A topic important to each citizen was discussed – 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Valeriy Pavlinovich has recalled his favourite songs of the wartime and performed them with musicians.

*From August 14 to September 12, the Orchestra visited 51 regions districts of the Nizhny Novgorod oblast
*The Governorate orchestra concert was a key show of a cultural-historical project
*The show program had popular tunes and hits of local and foreign composers of different years
*Total number of Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra has hit 20 400 residents
*Governorate Orchestra show in central park or central square of the district was a true holiday for parents and kids, elderly and young, a memorable event in the life of each district and region of the Nizhny Novgorod oblast.

From July 30 to August 6, 2014, Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra will participate in the 68th Lavender Festival, that annually takes place in the historical region of Provence, south east of France, city of Digne-les-Bains. Invitation to a holiday in French Alps was received by 24 ensembles from several European countries. Our orchestra is the only ensemble to represent Russia for the first time at the festival. At this time we’re preparing a show program for festival performances, consisting of popular foreign hits, 

light brass band pop music, as well as Russian folk songs beloved and recognized all over the world in an original adaptation. The concert program will be accompanied by the Orchestra show ballet.

From February 25 to March 4, 2014 the Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra has been participation in 81st International Lemon Festival (Fete du Citron), that’s been taking place in Menton (France). The First Lemon Festival was organized by local administration back in 1934. The Festival happened to be such a success, that it became annual, attraction more and more people every year. 

The Festival is held every year in the end of February – beginning of March and lasts a little more than two weeks. This year the main motive of the festival is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. More than 300 master craftsmen worked on creation of figures and various pannos from clementines and lemons, with over 140 tons of citruces spent.

Between February 7-14, 2014 The Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra has been participation in social events at XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi. Our ensemble performed at various stages and objects of the Olympic park with a special program, including modern adaptations of russian folk songs and popular foreign hits. Program also included Orchestra soloists and show ballet. The Orchestra performances were greeted with warm applause of Olympics guests and participants, and also mentioned by many Russian and foreign media.

Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra will participate in social events of Winter Olympics in Sochi in February of 2014. To participate in those events 135 creative ensembles were invited. There are dancing, folk ensembles, but only one wind orchestra – ours, from Nizhny Novgorod. That tells a lot!

NGO turned 15. Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra will celebrate its 15 years anniversary with gala concert that is scheduled for November 25th, 2013, at the Kremlin concert hall of the Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Philharmonic n.a. M. Rostropovich. “

Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra has been on tour over France between August 16-26, 2013. The Orchestra was performing at Dax, Mende, Carmaux.

April 2-7, 2013 the NGO ensemble has been on tour over Spain, in wonderful city of Murcia, where it participated in three nationwide festivals. Spaniards were greeting us with joy and warmth, shows were given a big round of applause.
